Relay-switched DC motor

by ourcircuits

4 parts

Two electromechanical parts in one loop. The switch energises a relay coil, the relay contact throws a permanent-magnet DC motor across the 12 V rail, and the motor does what real motors do: it draws its full stall current at the instant of switch-on, then the back-EMF of the spinning rotor chokes that down to the running current.
