MESFET two-stage amplifier

The GaAs MESFET is the JFET's hot-rod cousin: the same depletion-mode channel, but gated by a metal Schottky junction instead of a diffused p-n gate — the fabrication trick behind classic microwave amplifiers. Here it plays a textbook two-stage chain: a common-source stage idling at 5.12 mA, its 330 Ω self-bias resistor AC-bypassed by 22 µF, delivers a measured gain of −31, and a p-channel MESFET source follower buffers that swing onto its 470 Ω load at ×0.96, riding 1.48 V below the drain it follows. Both are real square-law device models — honestly, the same channel math as the JFET; the Schottky gate's real-world payoffs (RF-grade speed) are not modelled, and neither kind of gate conducts here.
