PV cell, single-diode model

by VladM

6 parts

A PV cell as the single-diode model: Iph, a 30 mA current source standing for the light, in parallel with the junction D1 and a shunt Rsh (1 kΩ), then a series Rs (1 Ω) to the terminal "pv". "load" is a 50Ω pot used as a rheostat (R = 50Ω × (1 − p) + 0.5Ω), saved at 30%. Press Run and drag the load toward59 %: the stacked view shows P = V·I, the current and the voltage, and P peaks at the maximum power point. Scale: a cell of about 1cm². A real module is about 60 of these in series, at about 300 times the current.
