Signal routing under logic control. One 125 Hz select line steers both halves: the 2:1 mux forwards the 250 Hz B clock while S is high and the 1 kHz A clock while S is low, so its output visibly changes gear every 4 ms. The demux does the reverse — the same 1 kHz data stream lands on Y0 while S is low and on Y1 while S is high, and the unselected output is actively driven low, not left floating.
