Phase-angle lamp dimmer
4 parts
How a wall dimmer works. A phase-angle controller watches the mains for zero crossings and fires the TRIAC part-way into each half-cycle; the thyristor then latches on until the current falls back through zero. Delivered power follows the firing angle, and the lamp brightness on the canvas follows the solved current.
