Three-phase half-wave rectifier

5 parts

Three diodes, one per wye phase, share a cathode rail into a 1 kΩ load returned to the grounded neutral: whichever phase is most positive conducts while the other two stand off. A fresh phase takes over every 120°, so the rectified output ripples at three times the line frequency — measured 27 ripple peaks in 150 ms, ≈180 Hz on the 60 Hz source — and never falls anywhere near zero: it stays between 4.39 and 9.33 V. The diodes are live junction models; the output sits a measured 0.67 V below the winning phase at each crest.
