AM demodulator

4 parts

An AM source (10 kHz carrier, 200 Hz modulation, m = 0.5) drives the classic diode envelope detector: the diode tops up the R‖C tank at each carrier peak and the 1 ms time constant — ten carrier periods, a fifth of a modulation period — lets the voltage ride the envelope instead of the carrier. The input swings ±7.5 V; the recovered audio swings 1.77–6.90 V, one diode drop under the 2.5–7.5 V envelope. The data probe on the output shows live min/mean/max over the scope window.
